Aberdeen Ethnic Minority Women Group

Our manager, Dr Abiola Abimbola Ph.D had the honour of attending and speaking at the recent event hosted by the Aberdeen Ethnic Minority Women Group, with a strong focus on women’s health.

The event brought together women from diverse ethnic backgrounds to share experiences, raise awareness, and discuss physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Key speakers included:
✨ Councillor Kairin van Sweeden
✨ Lisa Heinzler of Invisible Cities
✨ Councillor Deena Tissera

Dr. Abimbola shared the incredible work we’re doing at Influence Charity:

🔹 Creating safe spaces for minority groups
🔹 Advocating for the Equality Act 2010
🔹 Supporting NHS Grampian with consultations on their Equality Outcomes 2025–2029
🔹 Launching Influence Magazine (Q2 2025) focused on health in the Aberdeen Ethnic Minority Community
🔹 Developing an online whistleblower & compliance platform to support engagement with local healthcare services

He also explored collaboration opportunities including content contribution, magazine distribution, free community adverts, and educational workshops.

A big thank you to the Aberdeen Ethnic Minority Women Group for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to connect!
